What is Chiropractic?
Chiropractic care is one of the most gentle and effective forms of health care. It’s definition is “to be done by hand”. Chiropractic adjustments remove misalignments in the spine. These misalignments can cause irritation to the nerve roots preventing proper nerve conduction to muscles, ligaments and organ systems in the body.
Misalignments of the spine are also known as the Vertebral Subluxation Complex (VBS), which can inhibit nerve function, change musculature, prevent proper motion of the joint and over time lead to degeneration of the spine. Subluxations can also lead to pain, spasm, decreased circulation and to dysfunction of the organ systems in the body.
Many people express fear at the idea of having their necks or backs ‘cracked’. Dr. Lukovsky is an advanced proficiency rated Chiropractic physician at Activator Methods Protocol since 1999. The Activator Method is a gentle yet effective chiropractic technique which utilizes a hand-held, mechanical instrument to treat the body as a whole. In a very comprehensive manner any joint can be examined and adjusted comfortably including (but not limited to) the spine, shoulders, knees, hips, temporomandibular joint, feet and wrists.
There are three advantages of an Activator instrument adjustment:
- High speed. The instrument is so quick that the body’s muscles are less likely to tense in response, and resist the treatment. The lack of muscle resistance facilitates the treatment’s effectiveness.
- Controlled Low force. The applied force is localized and does not put the joint in any compromised positions, such as bending or twisting.
- Full Body Treatment. The entire body is examined and realigned for optimal results and healing. This is unlike certain manual adjustments/ practitioners who may only adjust your neck or lower back, depending on your complaint, and don’t take into account what is happening in the rest of the body.
